The Town and the SSCA need volunteers to organize the cornhole tournament, volleyball games, and pie baking contest, and to manage parking and to assist craft vendors with setup, at the Sept. 20 block party, according to emails sent out by the Civic Association today.
The SSCA is also recruiting participants for the cornhole tournament (which already has a number of entrants), volleyball games, and pie contest.

The SSCA also announced today that two food trucks will be on site at the party, one from Ten O’Six and the other from Stag’s Greek Food. Ten O’Six is dispatching its grilled cheese truck, which will have a variety of cheese sandwiches, as well as salads and soup, and Stag’s will offer beef hotdogs, gyros, spanakopitas, and various sides.
A beverage and ice cream truck will handle those refreshments–with no word yet on what beverages will be available.
This event is the first-ever block party held in celebration of Southern Shores.
